Distillery Winter Village

Recognized as one of the must-see holiday markets anywhere in the world by Frommers and CNN Travel, the Distillery Winter Village features a plethora of seasonal delights, including carolling, live music, a chance to meet Santa, and plenty of gift shopping opportunities.

Wonka’s Sweet Escape — Yorkdale Shopping Centre

Until January 2nd

Celebrating the release of the new movie musical, “Wonka”, this world-exclusive immersive experience can only be found at the Yorkdale Shopping Centre, with photo ops, giveaways, and of course a chocolatey treat or two.

Canada’s Wonderland WinterFest

Featuring something for everyone in your family, Canada’s Wonderland becomes a “winter wonderland” featuring live shows, light displays, themed rides, and two massive Christmas trees adorning International Street.

Outdoor Skating in and around the GTA

There are literally dozens of incredible places to take part in some drop-in skating around the GTA. From the iconic Nathan Phillips Square, to the 220-metre figure-eight of the Bentway Skate Trail, to the skyline views of Riverdale Park East, there’s lots of on-ice fun to be had!

Arcadia Earth

Billed as a “large-scale multi-sensory journey”, the Arcadia Earth exhibit seeks to highlight “the beauty of our planet, and the impact of human actions on the environment”, through art installations, augmented reality, virtual reality, and other interactive experiences.

The Muppet Christmas Carol

December 15–16 at 7 pm, and a matinee on the 16th at 2 pm

The classic 1992 Muppet retelling of Charles Dickens’ Christmas fable is given a symphonic boost with help of the TO Live Orchestra, who accompany a screening of the film with a live performance of its score.

Roller Express — TD West Carriageway, Union Station

Until February 4th

Not interested in hitting the ice? Union Station has you covered, with a free roller-skating experience! With a 5,500 square foot skating space, along with a trail leading into the carriageway tunnel, free skate rentals, free lessons, theme nights, and a fun retro feel, there’s something for everyone!

Hiking at Killarney Provincial Park

Rounding out our list are two incredible hiking destinations. The first, Killarney Provincial Park, boasts a “645 square kilometre wilderness landscape”, with hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and incredible vistas to discover.

Toronto Art Crawl Holiday Market — Exhibition Place

December 16, 12–5 pm

This free holiday market at the Grand Bizarre features over 120 local artists and vendors, food, coffee, mulled wine, and more! A perfect way to spend an afternoon and take care of some folks on your shopping list.

Hiking at Rattlesnake Point

You might spot a snowy owl or two along the way at Rattlesnake Point, as you make your way past thousand-year-old cedar trees and breathtaking views. It’s a great spot for birding, hiking, geocaching, and more.
